I will have a piece exhibited at the Bloom Art Festival this November 15, a festival that gathers majority of my favorite local artists that you wouldn’t normally see exhibit together — all at one time! To be more specific, 100 local artists are part of this. If you’re in Metro Manila, I hope you can drop by at The Collective in Makati.
I also just had to chance to work with a couple of NGOs — projects like these warm my heart. I got to design two bags for Luntian Bags, a livelihood program that provides jobs for unemployed women via the production of eco-friendly tote bags. I also got to work with an NGO called The Consuelo Foundation — they have come up with yet another livelihood project for communities that were devastated by the Ondoy typhoon. I don’t know if I have the liberty to disclose the project yet, but let me tell you it’s a fun, fun product. In any case, I’m suuuuper super happy I got to work with such kind people.
I’ve also been tattooing a lot of fun designs recently, I’ve had a rather colorful spectrum of clients — from jewellers to entrepreneurs to government employees to bankers. I love that this artform is reaching all kinds of lifestyles. This is saying something good about our society and its acceptance of individualities, isn’t it?
So anyway, I’m off to travel to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah soon, and then to my favorite island in the Philippines, Coron. Come here, come here!!
