Beach Songwriting Sessions & Recording Plans!!

by Laura Lost June 09, 2014

I have spent most of the winter and into spring writing material for a new record. I am playing a few gigs in the North Devon area this summer before heading to the States to record some songs, hopefully in Nashville. I like the Idea of having a very Americana feel to my new music, as I have been inspired by bands like First Aid Kit and War on Drugs at the moment as well as everything that Jack White puts out. If I can come anywhere close to achieving that sort of sound I will be very happy. I know I can get that sound from any good producer in the U.K but I kind of want an adventure at the same time as recording.

As well as songwriting I have been playing a few of the great open mics in the area I live (Croyde Bay, North Devon). I love playing these nights as I am surrounded by talented musicians and it is a good platform for showcasing new songs. The Sun has been out in Devon and I have also been surfing and chilling on the beach a bit which is a pretty inspiring place to be! I look forward to sharing some new material with everyone soon.

These past few months have all been about change for me and although in my brain I know it, my heart doesn’t seem to be ready. Until now, where I have taken a break and have been … Continue reading
